MA DANCE PERFORMANCE PLACEMENT AT UL
Developed through a partnership between Luail – Ireland’s National Dance Company and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, the MA Contemporary Dance Performance Placement offered postgraduate dance artists the opportunity to engage directly with professional company practice as part of their academic studies.
The MA Contemporary Dance Performance is a one-year, full-time programme designed for dance artists seeking an immersive, studio-based exploration of performance, choreography, and creative practice. Throughout the programme, students engage with workshops, masterclasses, ensemble choreographies, solo-making, Screendance, and collaborative projects, while building industry connections through collaborations with professional companies and festivals.
Through access to professional environments, mentorship, artistic exchange, and practical performance experience, the placement enables participants to deepen their understanding of contemporary dance practice while developing the skills, relationships, and experience required to support a sustainable career in the field.
