The Countertechnique® class is a contemporary dance technique class. It stretches, coordinates and strengthens the body, making the dancer sweat, build stamina and really move.
The class starts with a recurring set of exercises, allowing dancers to investigate the Countertechnique® principles in detail. The second half of the class consists of changing components, working towards luscious movement combinations.
The Countertechnique® class results in dancers using less energy, losing their fear of taking risks, and gaining speed in changing direction.
This class was co-hosted in partnership with Dance Ireland.

Aaron Shaw is a rehearsal director currently engaged at Opera Ballet Flanders, Belgium. Originally from Australia, Aaron has spent the majority of his career working between Germany and Belgium. Aaron has worked closely with or performed works by Alain Platel, Gisèle Vienne, Damien Jalet, Ella Rothschild, Pina Bausch, Jermaine Spivey, Marcos Morau, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Jan Martens, amongst many others.
